Announcement: New Awards, More Ballots!

Here are a few quick updates:

Since it would take me years to "complete" each of my movie ballots, I've decided to start posting them in their most up-to-date form, without necessarily filling in all of my blind spots from each year. In short: I'm going to start posting my ballots much more frequently, and I'll update them from time to time afterwards.

Also, I've decided to combine my acting categories (as I have with my music performance ones) and remove gender from the equation. So, I'll have two acting lineups: lead performance and supporting performance. In addition to this change, I'm reducing my ballots to a mere ten awards (which matches the amount of my music ones). The categories will be Best Picture (my ranked top ten list), Best Director, Best Lead Performance, Best Supporting Performance, Best Screenplay, Best Production (awarded to the production team - production/costume/sound designers, VFX crew, makeup artists, etc.), Best Cinematography, Best Editing, Best Music, and Best Breakthrough (for breakout directors, actors, and other film artists).

However, I'm also going to start doing "If I Voted" posts, which will be based strictly on the Oscar nominations and how I would vote for them. In essence, those will be my alternate Oscars, and my other ballots will stand on their own.

As a preview, here's what my (new) 2020 ballot currently looks like: (* = winner)
