Quick update: I've decided to award Best Original Song to both the writer(s) AND performer(s), since the latter contributes a great deal to a song's impact in a film. Songwriters often perform their own work anyways, but I thought this would be a nice addition to my awards. Plus, it means that people like Jeanne Moreau, Whitney Houston, Emma Stone, Saoirse Ronan, Bing Crosby, Doris Day, John Travolta, and Olivia Newton-John are now winners, and people like Adam Driver, Will Ferrell, Kristen Bell, Alicia Keys, Peter Stormare, Jonathan Rhys Meyers, and Rosemary Clooney are now nominees.
